What it's like to work with depression: an insight
Last week, I used a survey to ask the question: "What is something people should know about living and working with depression?" and used twitter to call out for anonymous respondents. I hoped that by using a platform that gives anonymity, more people would be willing to comment on their experiences. I did get a fair few answers, and decided to use these to create a video compiling them that people can watch and share around, to get people talking about the issue of depression in the workplace, and this project itself.
I used almost all the responses (all bar one, which was a negative and offensive comment on depression) to create this, writing each comment on a post-it-note, laying them out and cutting footage of them to some ambient guitar music to be a relaxing and insightful video.
I used a handheld camera to make it feel more genuine, and colourful post-it notes for the aesthetic.
